The company’s primary product is a zero speed splicer. Every day we touch products that have been run through a Butler splicer. Magazines, newspapers, inserts, envelopes, packaging materials and many other types of film and plastic. The standard Butler splicer is configured to hold a running (unwinding) roll of material with a new roll loaded into a standby position. When the unwinding roll is about to expire, the splicer feeds the production process from its accumulator, stops and severs the expiring roll, and splices in the new roll of material. This entire process takes place without having to stop production resulting in significant increases in output and reductions in waste.
