Faced with busy schedules and rising production costs, today’s printer is constantly looking for ways to improve productivity. Working closely with our customers we have developed the Performance Plus Vector drive upgrade to significantly improve the productivity and reliability of your Butler splicers.

The Butler Vector Drive Upgrade has been proven in numerous field installations to dramatically improve splicer performance. This upgrade replaces the existing magnetic particle clutch with a vector drive, and the pull roll with a low inertia carbide coated pull roller. The vector drive delivers deceleration to eliminate inertia from the pull roll during the splice cycle and more torque at consistent levels during acceleration.

Butler splicers are built to last indefinitely. This fact has led our splicers to outlive old press maximum speed ratings in many cases. This upgrade gives our customers an economical way to increase splicer and press speed and thereby increase overall plant productivity.
