Butler Automatic - Field Service Engineer – Job Opportunity

 

Butler Automatic Inc. has an immediate opening for a Field Service Engineer. This person will be responsible for providing support and maintenance to Butler equipment at our customer’s location. Support and maintenance includes installation and setup of new equipment, troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer training.

Butler Automatic invented the zero-speed automatic splicer that enables non-stop production in a variety of production applications. Our initial machines were instrumental in creating significant efficiencies in the print industry and we have successfully transferred this technology to the packaging and other paper handling industries. Our splicers allow companies in a variety of industries to operate more efficiently by reducing down time, increasing yield, and reducing waste, all critical measurements in the modern manufacturing environment. Butler has an installed base of machines in excess of 17,000 units worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial machine installation and/or maintenance.  This position is remote with anticipated travel 40 – 60% of the time.

Job Responsibilities

·        Provide technical and maintenance support to Butler customers with their equipment

·        Commission new and upgrade equipment in customers plants

·        Audit customer’s Butler equipment and report all repair requirements found

·        Provide timely written and oral reports in an accurate and professional manner

·        Promote service parts and preventative maintenance contracts

·        Work flexible hours to support customer’s needs

·        Extensive travel (50%)  majority in the North America with limited travel to Europe and South America

Qualifications

·        Experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems

·        Knowledge of PLC controls/Programming  Allen Bradley and Siemens,  computer interfaces

·        Ability to quickly identify and correct electrical and mechanical issues

·        Experience with food packaging machinery or related equipment

·        Ability to interpret blue prints, schematics and manuals

·        Computer knowledge Word, Outlook , Excel

·        5 to 7 years’ experience in  mechanical/electrical equipment installation and service

·        Some technical or engineering education desired

Other Requirements

·        Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation

·        Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DMV, reference and credit check

·        Must have or obtain a valid passport

·        Must be able to pass a physical examination

·        Must be able to work with heavy loads and lift 80 pounds without restriction

·        Must have a valid driver’s license
